34-Year-Old Charged with Sexual Assault of 10-Year-Old Girl

The investigation into the sexual assault of a girl under the age of fourteen has been completed by the Investigative Committee of Armenia in the Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts. A 34-year-old man has been detained.

It was previously reported that on July 20, 2019, a resident of Yerevan contacted the Mashtots police station, stating that the father of her daughter's friend, born in 1985, had locked himself in a room with her 10-year-old daughter and committed sexual acts against her.

Based on sufficient evidence gathered, the man has been charged under Article 139, Part 3, Clause 2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and detention has been chosen as a preventive measure against him. The completion of the investigation has been announced, and the criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor for approval of the indictment and submission to the court.
