Inmate Dies at Armavir Penitentiary

The Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia informs that on December 26, at around 00:05, inmate Artur Sergey Karapetyan (born in 1988, previously convicted five times) experienced a deterioration in his health condition at the Armavir penitentiary.

Emergency assistance was called at 00:05, and by 00:20, Karapetyan was transferred to the Vagharsapat Medical Center, where his biological death was registered. The preliminary diagnosis indicates sudden cardiac arrest.

An investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the inmate's death, and a forensic medical examination has been appointed.
