Explosion Due to Gas Cylinder Leak in Shirakavain Village: Details
An explosion occurred in one of the private houses in Shirakavain village due to a gas cylinder leak. This was reported by a correspondent from SHANTNEWS.am.
At the time of the incident, the gas cylinder installed in the kitchen of the Harutyunyan family was not connected, and the gas stove was not in use. Family members heard a hissing sound, entered the kitchen, and noticed a strong leak from the gas cylinder's valve. Three members of the family managed to exit the house quickly, just minutes before the explosion occurred.
As a result of the explosion, the walls of the newly built two-story house were separated, while the balcony and roof partially collapsed and the furnishings in the rooms were also damaged. The windows and doors were thrown out by the shockwave of the explosion.
The Ani regional rescue team was on site, performing inspections. They cordoned off the hazardous area and prohibited entry into the residence due to the risk of further collapse. The family was to be relocated to the house of relatives living in the village.
