Citizen Stops Car on Gyumri-Yerevan Road and Attacks Driver with Knife
Investigations are underway at the Erebuni Division of the Police following a call received on December 24 from the "Erebuni" Medical Center.
At approximately 23:20, the police were notified by the medical center that a citizen had been brought in with a diagnosis of "cut wound to the lower third of the right forearm, laceration around the nose, with soft tissue injury." According to photo journalist Gagik Shamshyan, a police operational group led by the head of the Erebuni Division, Vardan Vardanyan, was dispatched to the hospital.
Investigations revealed that the victim was 32-year-old Sedrak M., a resident of Aragatsotn Province, who informed the hospital staff that he had been stopped on the Gyumri-Yerevan highway and attacked with a knife.
Police later determined that on the same day, around 19:00, an unknown individual, who was a passenger in Sedrak M.'s car, held a knife to his neck during a struggle, resulting in injuries to Sedrak's hands. Sedrak M. further stated that the assailant bit his nose and, instilling fear, stole 200,000 drams from him before fleeing the scene.
