Arrest of the Nephew of 'Thief-in-Law' Gevorg from Oshakan

On December 26, law enforcement officers from the Aragatsotn regional police department, led by Deputy Chief Vahan Aghgashyan and Detective Chief Arthur Mkrtchyan, conducted a special operation in the town of Ashtarak, named 'Popokjardich'.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, during this operation, a 30-year-old resident of Oshakan village in the Aragatsotn region, Grigor Hakobyan, was taken into custody on suspicion of carrying a cold weapon from the yard of building number 2 on Nerses Ashtaraketsi Street.

Grigor Hakobyan is the nephew of Gevorg, a well-known 'thief-in-law' from Oshakan, and is recognized in the criminal world by the nickname 'Kuk'. He was driving a BMW X5 with the license plate number 90 XX 089, in which a cold weapon and a 'bita' were discovered. The vehicle has been moved to the secure area of the Ashtarak police department.

Investigative materials are being prepared by the investigative division of the Ashtarak police department regarding this incident.
