Rescuers Continue to Fight Fires Alongside Citizens
On December 25, starting from 07:00, 79 rescue workers were dispatched to resume firefighting operations in the area known as 'Patqar'. The fire was contained on December 24 at 18:02. By December 25, approximately 8,000 square meters of wood debris, dried leaves, and brush had burned.
At 18:04, the firefighting efforts were halted due to darkness. A total of 65 rescue workers participated in the firefighting operations, along with 11 employees from the 'Ijevan Forest Management' branch of 'Hayantar' State Non-Commercial Organization, and 15 residents of Gandering village.
It is worth noting that on December 22 at 15:59, an alert was received by the '911' service reporting the sighting of smoke near the Tavush region's Gandert-Berd highway, close to a TV tower. A fire-rescue crew was dispatched from the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. It was determined that the fire source was located about 20 km from the highway in the gorge of the 'Bldghanut' area, with no access routes available, and forestry employees were working at the site.
