Fire Breaks Out on Vanadzor-Alaverdi Highway, 42 Firefighters Deployed
On December 25, at 03:35, 42 firefighters were dispatched to the scene to resume firefighting operations, as reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Recall that on December 24, at 09:33, the "911" service received information that a fire had broken out in a forested area south of the 15th kilometer of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi highway. Operational groups from the regional rescue department and firefighting team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were sent to the scene.
At 18:08, operations were suspended due to darkness. Approximately 40 hectares of forest cover were burned, including leaves, stumps, and underbrush.
The firefighting efforts also involved 15 staff members from the "Gugark Forest Enterprise" of the State Forest Committee and 10 residents of the Yeghenut village. Duty was assigned to monitor the situation.
