Major Fire in Tavush Region: Residents and 'Hayantar' Employees Assist Rescuers
On December 23, at 09:23, a firefighting team from the Emergency Situations Ministry's regional rescue department was dispatched to a site known as 'Bldghanut.' At 11:14, a new fire hotspot was detected in an area called 'Gobi Homers.' Eight rescuers conducted firefighting operations at the location while another group continued on foot along the remaining stretch of the road.
Due to the necessity, a second firefighting team was sent to the disaster site, along with 5 firefighters from the Civil Defense Forces Collective Center responsible for protecting special facilities in Tavush.
In the areas known as 'Bldghanut' and 'Gobi Homers,' leaves and shrubs are burning. Firefighting operations are ongoing in several sections of the mentioned territories. A total of 22 rescue personnel, 10 employees from the 'Ijevan Forestry' branch of 'Hayantar' SNCO, and 30 local residents are engaged in the efforts.
At 18:04, firefighting operations were suspended due to darkness.
