Drunken Man Accidentally Shoots Himself in the Leg While Driving
On the morning of December 22, a report was received at the Kotayk police department that a 37-year-old man from Garni village had been transported to the "Saint Grigor Lusavorich" medical center with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Criminal investigators from the Kotayk police department, in collaboration with their colleagues from the Garni department, conducted various operational measures and gathered factual data indicating that the man, who was hospitalized, had participated in a party at one of the restaurant complexes in the village of GohT just hours earlier.
During the event, he exhibited blatant disrespect towards the other attendees and fired irregular shots with an illegal pistol. He then traveled from GohT to Garni in a BMW vehicle. On the way, he accidentally shot himself in the leg with the same pistol.
According to Kotayk police, prior to being taken to the hospital, the gun was kept in a building located next to the gas station in Garni village. The pistol was discovered and seized during a search. The BMW vehicle was also located and moved to a designated area protected by the Kotayk police.
Examinations have been scheduled. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case, classified under hooliganism, is ongoing.
