You Can’t Assign Anyone to Create a Global Hit,” Garik Papoyan on the Noise Surrounding His New New Year's Song

Host, actor, and musician Garik Papoyan is astonished at the competition over the song 'Jingle Bells.' He recently shared a video on his Facebook page discussing the matter.

“You can’t assign anyone to create a global hit because hits are not made. A hit is a phenomenon; it is either liked at a moment or it isn't. Just recently, Yerevan's Deputy Mayor Tigran Virabyan called me and proposed that we write a new song dedicated to New Year, which we are working on,” says Papoyan.

The musician notes that their song is not yet finished, but people are already offering judgments, calling it “nonsense.” Papoyan points out that the track is actually a collaboration featuring himself, Sona Rubenyan, and Avet Barseghyan, and they are apprehensive to release it due to the high expectations surrounding the song.
