Shooting on Georgian-Azerbaijani Border Injures Georgian Citizen

Several days ago, Azerbaijani border guards injured a Georgian citizen who was a shepherd on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border. This is reported by the netgazeti.ge website.

Various theories are circulating regarding the incident. According to one theory, the shepherd ran toward the neutral zone, where border guards opened fire in his direction. Another theory suggests that the guards aimed at a dog but accidentally injured the shepherd.

Azerbaijani media reports that the shepherd was injured in the head area. He is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Ganja (Gandzak). His identity has been confirmed as Ramin Bashirov, a Georgian citizen of Azerbaijani ethnicity born in 1993.

Representatives of the Georgian embassy in Azerbaijan have visited the injured man. An investigation is underway regarding the incident.
