Vitali Balasanyan's Message

Hero of Artsakh Vitali Balasanyan has sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the referendum on the state independence of the Republic of Artsakh and the Constitution Day. The message is as follows:

“On behalf of organizations and individuals that joined the ‘For Artsakh’ nationwide movement and personally from me, I sincerely congratulate you on the occasion of the referendum on the state independence of the Republic of Artsakh and Constitution Day. December 10 has become a day for making fateful decisions on our path to liberation that have outlined the further development and establishment of our state.

In an interesting coincidence, the people of Artsakh have conducted decisive nationwide votes twice on December 10, which is celebrated as International Human Rights Day. On this day in 1991, under the sound of bomb explosions, the people of Artsakh unanimously said ‘Yes’ to independence. On this day in 2006, the Armenian state of Artsakh adopted its Constitution through a referendum.

Today, Artsakh has all the state symbols and all the structures and institutions that confirm its statehood. Artsakh is now a more established state than Azerbaijan, which has attempted to annex it. Each of us should appreciate our own independence; the collective feeling of independence among all will ensure the independence of the country.

Once again, I congratulate all of you on this most important state holiday and wish you peace, good health, and all the best,” the message stated.
