One Manvel Grigoryan Arrested, One Robert Kocharyan, Are There No Oligarchs in This Country? Gevorg Gorgisyan

During a discussion on proposed amendments to the constitutional law on the Constitutional Court on December 10, Lawmaker Gevorg Gorgisyan from the 'Bright Armenia' faction responded to Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan, saying, "You say you will arrest corrupt individuals. You have arrested one Manvel Grigoryan, one Robert Kocharyan; are there no oligarchs left in this country? You arrest, then release. You might as well have arrested ten more. It’s an endless cycle of arrests and releases. So go ahead, arrest them; that is what we are saying."

Gorgisyan also addressed judicial reforms: "When it came to judicial reforms, Mr. Simonyan, we developed a project on vetting, invested time and knowledge, but then the authorities decided not to implement that reform. You keep saying you received 71 percent of the vote; do you understand what a burden that is? And now you are doing things that the people might not expect."
