No Witch Hunt Will Happen, Everything Will Be According to Law: Ararat Mirzoyan

During the discussion on the draft law to send Constitutional Court judges to early retirement, the President of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, made a statement.

“For over 20 years, society has been anxiously waiting for a strong hand to finally cleanse the witches who obstruct the development of Armenia, who are exploiting the citizens of Armenia, who are robbing the citizens of Armenia. And here a political force is proposing to do this in its own way, for example, to carry out a revolution with open hands, which is undoubtedly met with ridicule, because it was previously believed that weapons could help get rid of this. Life has proven that it cannot be done with weapons, and the revolution with open hands is a fact. We say that we will fight against corruption step by step and restore legality in Armenia. It doesn't happen like that; you must catch all the witches at once, take them to prison, and you all know their names. We say no, everything must be done within the framework of legality, so that instead of fixing one eye, we do not take out another,” Mirzoyan stated, adding that there will be no witch hunt; everything will be according to law.

Then the President of the National Assembly addressed the Prosperous Armenia faction and suggested not to invoke old motivations, as it would not lead to good outcomes. “Do not hold on to any bastion that could be a bastion of old, corrupt Armenia or authoritarian Armenia. You do not need that, I assure you,” he said.

Mirzoyan also addressed the Bright Armenia party: “We say many things are right, yet when it comes to action, you say, ‘Oh no, oh no,’ dear people, things need to be done; let me just say, again they will say there's a third way. I regret to inform you that you are not stepping out of the third way; find yourselves a new Armenia. I am sure you want a democratic Armenia alongside us. Why do you always reach a stream and say, ‘No, we will get wet?’” he emphasized.
