Grigoryan's Defense Claims Life-Threatening Risks, Yet Notes 'We Are Boycotting': Prosecutor
During the court session regarding the case of former MP Manvel Grigoryan's wife, Nazik Amiryan, at the Yerevan City Court of General Jurisdiction, prosecutor Vahe Dolmazyan addressed the separation of Grigoryan's case, stating that the doubts regarding Grigoryan's health, which have been occasionally raised by them, were confirmed in the previous court session.
"The defense claims that there has never been a case in their practice where this kind of situation occurred... In my practice, there has also never been a case where the defense presents that Manvel Grigoryan has health issues and life-threatening risks, yet they quietly note, 'We are boycotting.' After that, Grigoryan's condition starts to deteriorate; he becomes dissatisfied and unhappy, and the defense requests the court to postpone the hearing," Dolmazyan stated.
According to the prosecutor, this has been documented through the recording of the previous court session, which they can review later. "We can examine that recording during the court session concerning Manvel Grigoryan and document that fact with the subsequent legal implications," he added.
The prosecutor emphasized that considering the need for a fair trial and taking similar circumstances into account, he believes the court made the right decision in separating the criminal cases.
