6,565 New Jobs Emerged in Armenia Within a Month, Says Pashinyan

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "As of November 29, 2019, a total of 81,534 new jobs have emerged in Armenia compared to May 2018 (either created or moved out of the shadow economy). As of October 29, 2019, that number was 74,969. This means that within one month, 6,565 jobs have emerged in Armenia.

However, it is interesting to note the distribution of the 74,969 jobs in October and 81,534 in November according to the income tax scale, that is, based on salaries. The distribution of October’s 74,969 jobs was as follows: 30.4% or 22,810 jobs were in the salary range of up to 150,000 AMD, 68.9% or 51,723 jobs were in the salary range of 150,000 to 2 million AMD, and 0.5% or 423 jobs were in the salary range above 2 million AMD.

For the 81,534 new jobs in November, the distribution is as follows: 28.5% or 23,250 jobs were in the salary range of up to 150,000 AMD, 70.8% or 57,736 jobs were in the salary range of 150,000 to 2 million AMD, and 0.6% or 548 jobs were in the salary range above 2 million AMD.

As you can see, the proportion of high-paying jobs among the newly emerged job opportunities is gradually increasing, indicating a deep and positive transformation of the economy. I have no doubt that a significant portion of these jobs pertain to the IT sector.

Note: I want to emphasize that the emergence of new jobs has certain seasonal factors. For example, in September, there was a decline of about 3,000 jobs compared to August. But this does not affect the overall dynamics that we have been calculating since May 2018, that is, since the victory of the revolution. As you can see, a tremendous number of new jobs have emerged in Armenia, and this process will continue."
