168 Hours: The Municipality Signs Contracts Worth 67.5 Million Drams with Khachatur Sukiasyan's Company

168 Hours writes: "The events of 2018 and the regime change have brought significant changes to the lives of certain businessmen. This is why they seize every opportunity to praise Nikol Pashinyan and his government, overlooking numerous shortcomings and corrupt phenomena. Recently, businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan criticized the former authorities, particularly the third president of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan. The press recalled how he tried in every way to foster close relations with Serzh Sargsyan, inviting him to various business initiatives, such as the opening of the 'Rosia Mall' center in 2016.

But let's set this aside, along with the fact that the Sukiasyans have been benefiting from their close ties with the authorities since the 1990s, particularly due to their friendship with Vano Siradeghyan. The issue is that a businessman who constantly allows himself to make economic analyses does not see the serious problems facing the country and the Armenian citizens. Why does he not see these problems? The answer is simple—personal gain.

So, the Ministry of Justice's Penitentiary Service has signed a contract worth over 3 million drams with Khachatur Sukiasyan's family-owned 'Sil-Insurance' insurance company. The insurance for vehicles under the balance of the Penitentiary Service has been implemented by Khachatur Sukiasyan's company. Essentially, the Penitentiary Service has ordered the insurance for 87 vehicles from 'Sil-Insurance'. By June, according to a bilateral agreement, the number of vehicles had increased to 100.

The media also reported that a substantial part of the insurance for vehicles of the Prime Minister's Office has been commissioned to 'Sil-Insurance'. And yesterday, '168 Hours' learned that the health insurance for the employees of the Yerevan city municipality is also being handled by 'Sil-Insurance', owned by businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan, something that has not been the case before."
