Smokers Should Become Outcasts: Hrachya Hakobyan

Today, on December 9, during the discussion of the issue on "Reducing and Preventing Health Hazards from the Use of Tobacco Products and Their Substitutes" in the National Assembly, MP Hrachya Hakobyan from the "My Step" faction deemed the proposed bill useful and important.

"From my experience, I can say that when I was a smoker, now I rarely smoke. The first time I found myself in the smoking area at the airport, I felt like an outcast, a 'pariah', a refugee. Now I apologize to all my smoking friends, but yes, I have to say that this culture needs to be formed so that smokers become outcasts," said Hakobyan.

The MP thanked all his colleagues who have stated that they will vote in favor of the bill, once again reminding them about becoming outcasts: "None of our colleagues here has said they would want their children to smoke, right, Mr. Gorgisyan? No one wants our children to smoke. Therefore, first and foremost, smokers should become outcasts. I welcome this bill, and I thank those MPs and colleagues who have already announced that they will vote in favor. I believe this bill will be adopted unanimously."
