No Fake Scramble in Artsakh, Says Artsakh Foreign Minister

I find it appropriate to reaffirm my statement from October 8 regarding my active participation in the 2020 presidential elections for the public at large. This was stated by Artsakh's Foreign Minister Masis Mayilyan on his Facebook page, commenting on the discussions circulated by various political groups.

"Recently, certain political circles have spread false information that I have supposedly withdrawn from the election race, and, most amusing of all, that I have entered into some sort of deal. Although those who know me and the informed part of the public have reacted humorously to this, I still find it appropriate to reaffirm my statement from October 8 regarding my active participation in the 2020 presidential elections for the public's wide segments once again. I will continue my active and decisive activities aimed at mobilizing the healthy forces of society for discussions and approvals of radical reform programs in Artsakh. I have no doubt that as a result of these reforms, we will jointly ensure a secure, prosperous, reliable, fair, civilized, and democratic future for our country, in short, we will build our New Artsakh together.

This process cannot be halted, just as the wheel of history cannot be turned back. Especially not with fakes and manipulations. Their authors do not understand that times have changed, and that the only way to be perceived as somewhat serious and to have prospects is to come out from the shadows in every sense of the word and engage in honest and open competition. Instead, certain circles, with the force of sad tradition, continue to speak about predetermined elections. I am compelled to disappoint them: there is no such thing, and whether you like it or not, there will be competitive elections. And we will do everything for that, thwarting all attempts at distortion,” the minister wrote.
