Gorgisyan Characterizes Hakobyan's Project as 'Spitting and Sticking'

Im Kayl MP Vagarshak Hakobyan's proposed project suggests amendments to the operational procedures of housing cooperatives. In particular, it is proposed that residents must pay their cooperative fees via bank transfers. According to the project's author, this will allow the funds to be monitored, preventing cooperative leaders from misappropriating or spending the funds at their discretion.

However, the MPs from the LHK faction argue that the project will not achieve its intended purpose. Ani Samsonyan and Gevorg Gorgisyan expressed concerns that while previously cooperative workers could at least collect the fees door-to-door, after this change, no one could be forced to pay. They contend that systemic changes are needed.

“Why are we trying to solve a spitting-and-sticking issue now, knowing that a fundamental solution will soon come?” Gorgisyan said. Hakobyan urged against such characterizations, explaining that the amendments in his project are part of a broader change.
