Expert Warns About Facebook Groups Sharing Soldier Photos
Regional affairs expert Karen Hovhannisyan writes on his Facebook page: "I have a significant request to my Facebook friends: Recently, various types of groups have been opening on Facebook that post photos of soldiers, mainly from military unit areas, or visuals that serve as important sources of information for specialists. These photos generally pertain to birthday greetings or simply welcoming soldiers.
The texts written in the photo comments section are quite dangerous. They often mention the soldier's full name, age, place of service, and even the locality of the military base. Be vigilant and attentive; do not jeopardize the lives of your soldier sons, as you are providing information about their service locations and end dates while voluntarily sharing their images. This way, it is even possible to obtain information about the actual number of soldiers.
I will be closely monitoring this and am starting a new campaign to urge parents and relatives of soldiers to stop providing information to strangers."
