EU Support for Armenia's Reforms Increased After Last Year's Revolution: Mogherini

The European Union will continue its efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by encouraging high-level dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the European Union and Vice President of the European Commission, during a plenary discussion in the European Parliament.

"We fully support the mediation efforts of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and the proposals they have put forward, including through the work of our Special Representative," Mogherini said.

Speaking about Armenia, she noted that the government is committed to implementing democratic reforms in line with the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU.

"Armenia considers this agreement with the EU as a real program for reform, and we are proud of it. Our support for the reform process, including the ongoing judicial reforms, has increased after last year’s political revolution. I am confident that this cooperation will be even closer in the coming years," Mogherini stated.
