On December 5, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Kotayk region. At approximately 12:30, vehicles collided on the 42nd km of the Yerevan-Sevan highway involving a MAN truck driven by Russian citizen Vladimir Galanov (license plate K393 YT 163 RUS) and a ГАЗ 66 vehicle driven by local resident Hayk Sargsyan (license plate 216 VV 01).
According to Shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, ГАЗ 66 passenger Vazgen Minasyan was transported to the «Hrazdan» medical center for treatment.
The photojournalist reports that the ГАЗ 66 is registered under the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations’ rescue service, and both the driver and the injured individual work in the Rescue Service’s Hrazdan firefighting and rescue squad. They had arrived at the scene to assist the driver of a Hyundai vehicle (license plate 863 AT 61) that was partially hanging off a section of the concrete bridge. While the rescuers were demarcating the area and preparing to safely move the Hyundai vehicle, the MAN truck collided with the stationary ГАЗ 66 parked in a permissible area of the road.
