Court of Appeal Considers Release of Robert Kocharian on Bail

The Court of Appeal, presided over by Judge Mkhitar Papoyan, is reviewing the appeal of the defense of the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, regarding the decision of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction not to release him on bail.

The previous court session was postponed due to the incomplete package of documents sent by the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction necessary for discussing the defense's petition. The court also identified the need for additional documents.

On November 7, the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by Judge Anna Danibekyan, rejected the defense's petition to permit the application of bail as a measure of restraint against Robert Kocharian.
