Why the NSS Arrested the Driver Receiving Money Without Waiting for Him to Transfer It to Loretsyan: Ioannisyan

Daniel Ioannisyan, founder and program coordinator of the 'Informed Citizens' Initiative NGO, wrote on his Facebook page: 'I expect that the NSS will publish additional information and materials regarding Gevorg Loretsyan's case. Under the current data, the logic seems flawed. Specifically: A) A deputy minister earning a monthly salary of one million drams is alleged to have solicited a bribe equivalent to his salary, and received 300,000 drams through a driver (if we are to believe the available internal info and media reports). Why risk 12 years of imprisonment for such a bribe that equals one month's salary? B) Why did the NSS arrest the driver receiving the money without waiting for him to transfer it to Loretsyan, which would have made the bribery of the deputy minister's involvement more substantiated? I do not wish to develop conspiracy theories, but I note that the NSS, dealing with Loretsyan's case, has a current director who has a very poor relationship with Gevorg Loretsyan, and who used to threaten and obstruct the construction of a UEFA Category 4 stadium. Coincidence? I hope the NSS will reveal details to dispel these suspicions. In such a case, it is clear that Loretsyan must be punished to the full extent of the law.'
