The Minister Acted as a Dogmatic Bureaucrat: Jirayr Sefilyan
Shushi's special battalion commander and honorary representative of the 'Sasna Tsrer' pan-Armenian party, Jirayr Sefilyan, wrote on his Facebook page: 'Araik Harutyunyan should have been more open-minded. Representatives of the current government continue to make mistakes, pouring water into the mill of the fifth column. The fifth column, which is purposefully moving towards a coup, is skillfully taking advantage of these mistakes. What happened yesterday in front of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports is a vivid example of this.'
'Minister Araik Harutyunyan, instead of inviting the youth and discussing the issue with them, acted as a dogmatic bureaucrat, giving rise to unpleasant, dangerous, and unacceptable developments. Had he been open-minded, he could have risen above party affiliations and invited the protesting youth and citizens, voicing their demands, for a discussion to address their concerns. Simultaneously, the minister could have shown them how the fifth column is preparing for a coup and trying to exploit sensitive topics and the integrity of the youth.'
'In turn, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan should finally consider the realities and refrain from the inertia of the past. In this case, the use of police force was not necessary at all. In general, police force should be applied very rarely and only in extreme cases. It should also be noted that the police have not been cleansed of their corrupt past, and their mere presence evokes heavy memories and widespread aversion.'
