The ARF Issues a Statement Regarding Nikol Pashinyan's Speech in Parliament
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation's statement regarding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's barefaced remarks in the National Assembly reflects intolerance, distortion of facts, and a substitution of the state's governance responsibilities with erratic political behavior. This was stated by the Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation.
"Exploiting the numerous negative phenomena present in the country and violating the fundamental principles of constitutional order, Pashinyan seeks to establish autocratic rule, transforming the rejection of previous unacceptable manifestations into a denial of the past, not shying away from belittling the achievements of the liberation struggle and the forces embodying them. The public's dream and hope for a better future, as well as the demands for political dialogue, clash with the aggressive behavior of a government unable to implement reforms.
Pashinyan, who undermines the ARF's rating, also denies his own actions and approaches, forgetting that he sought partnership with the ARF while forming a transitional government and entrusted responsible positions to them. Pashinyan’s unreservedly successful achievement and technology of dividing the people is being attempted to be applied against the ARF. The ARF is one, and it does not need to defend itself. The ARF is the owner of its past, its legacy, and has the will and capacity to correct its shortcomings. It is also clear that the ARF is committed to serving the state, but not the current government and political expediencies.
The ARF will continue its mission, deeply concerned about the present of Armenia, the shortsighted and erratic populist politics conducted in the country, the raging reality of lies and deceit, and the actions of the ruling political team that is unprepared to confront the internal and external risks of the country.
We call on Nikol Pashinyan to sober up and remain within the limits of the powers of the position he occupies and to address the challenges facing the country that grow larger by the day. We appeal to the rational public and political forces to unite around the agenda of steering the country away from this unpromising course," the statement reads.
