No Successful Stories of Community Merging Presented: Zograbyan
“Do you remember the Armageddons that the Republican majority was able to pass concerning the community merging reform in the previous parliament? And no successful stories of community merging were presented,” declared Naira Zograbyan from the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) during today’s National Assembly session.
She noted that there are still complaints in the merged communities. Zograbyan described some of these issues, including the lack of roads and infrastructure, and the need for ambulances to cover large distances, among other concerns.
According to Zograbyan, it is not acceptable to merge everyone with one decision; it is necessary to consider local connections, logistics, and reasoning.
Regarding the fact that the referendums held in settlements during the community merging process will have no legal value, Zograbyan stated that it is a disrespect to the residents of those communities.
