Deputy Minister of Education, His Driver, and Football Club President Arrested
The Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Gevorg Loretsyan, his driver, and the president of one of Armenia's football clubs, who were detained by the NSS the day before, have now been arrested. This information has been confirmed by the NSS press service.
Earlier, we reported that officers of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, as part of large-scale operational and investigative measures aimed at combating corruption, detained the Deputy Minister on December 4, 2019, on suspicion of receiving a particularly large bribe. Alongside him, his driver and the president of one of the football clubs operating in Armenia were apprehended. The latter also serves as the actual head of several supplier companies.
