The Current Situation of the Constitutional Court Does Not Correspond to the Constitution, Says Pashinyan

There is no law in nature that is devoid of political considerations. This was stated today by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan while presenting the draft to send members of the Constitutional Court into early retirement.

“The political consideration is as follows. The established situation in the RA Constitutional Court does not correspond to the situation stipulated by the RA Constitution. And if there are no solutions, it will continue like this until 2035. In other words, the constitutional situation that is envisaged for the constitutional court under the current Constitution is highly likely not to occur,” said Pashinyan.

According to the Prime Minister, the current situation of the Constitutional Court is also a consequence of deceit.

Regarding pensions, Pashinyan noted that even if the members of the Constitutional Court do not leave that institution, they will still receive payments as salaries.
