Political Forces Ignore Local Government Elections
The newspaper "Zhamanak" reports that on Sunday, December 8th, local self-government elections will be held in 12 communities across 6 regions of Armenia. Additionally, early elections will take place in 4 more communities. Early elections for mayor will be held in the communities of Avan in the Aragatsotn region and Taperakan in the Ararat region, while early elections for council will occur in Norashen in the Ararat region and Tziatsan in the Armavir region.
It is noteworthy that, similar to previous local government elections, it can be said that political forces are not represented in these elections. Among the 14 communities, candidates from the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) are only running in the communities of Tziatsan in Armavir and Anushavan in Shirak. However, they are not officially nominated by the party but have self-nominated. All other candidates are non-partisan.
