I Never Imagined That Billion-Dollar Investors Could Be So Sensitive: Mayor's Spokesman

I never imagined that billion-dollar investors could be so sensitive. This was stated by the Mayor's spokesman Hakob Karapetyan during a meeting with journalists, emphasizing that when it was warned during an official meeting that constant phone conversations were not appropriate, they halted negotiations on a multi-million dollar project and left.

“Moreover, this was said in a rather mild tone, and at the end of the meeting, the mayor stated that the city is ready to accept their investments. When you go to any country, you are obliged to wear that country's hat; I think it is essential to respect state institutions and adhere to the rules of politeness,” he noted.

Addressing multi-billion-dollar construction projects in Armenia, he mentioned that it is hard to imagine a multi-billion-dollar hospital or hotel in the center of Yerevan where several billions are being spent. “By the way, it was said that several billion dollars would be invested, but the currency was not mentioned; perhaps it concerns another currency, not the dollar. In that case, it is possible to envision an investment of several billion,” Karapetyan concluded.
