Gagik Tsarukyan Has Always Been a Top Topic, Gevorg Petrosyan

Gagik Tsarukyan has always been a top topic, depending on how one wants to develop that topic. This was stated today, December 4, during a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly by Gevorg Petrosyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party, addressing the question of what caused Gagik Tsarukyan to become a top topic in the Assembly in recent days.

“Today, Gagik Tsarukyan is one of the most prominent political figures known to the public; he is a person who has made a unique contribution to this state,” he said.

Referring to Tsarukyan's statements in recent days, Gevorg Petrosyan noted, “As soon as Tsarukyan makes a statement that is controversial at first glance, all media outlets immediately cover it. But why do those media outlets not cover Tsarukyan's philanthropic efforts, his political and civic positions?”

Petrosyan also commented on the statement by Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan regarding the representatives of the Abu Dhabi sheikh who attended their meeting in jeans. “They say he wore jeans; what should he have worn on a Sunday? Maybe he was going to a wedding? People today are asking for an investment of 100 thousand from a single source to prevent people from leaving Armenia. Tsarukyan brings in $2 billion through his connections; the problem is almost solved, yet the project is being thwarted because of unwise behavior,” he concluded.
