The Minister Must Listen to Even Those Who Do Not Approach Him: Arman Abovyan
Arman Abovyan, a member of the 'Prosperous Armenia' faction in the National Assembly, who recently met with detained members of the Youth Organization of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, stated to reporters, 'This incident, which is essentially the use of force, will certainly be a subject of very serious scrutiny, that is for sure. There must be a meeting, there must be dialogue; the minister must listen to the students, even to those who do not come to his door. If he does not listen, it leads to such situations.'
'It is very important to understand why the minister is unwilling to meet with the youth, what the issue is. It is also important to understand the proportionality of the use of force.'
It is noteworthy that 24 representatives of the youth wing demanding the resignation of Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan have been detained on suspicion of violating public order.
