Jhangiryan Determined to Reach the Prosecutor's Chair at Any Cost
According to the newspaper "Jhoghovurd", on November 29, Gagik Jhangiryan appealed to the Administrative Court of Armenia against the President, demanding to nullify the decrees through which Robert Kocharyan dismissed Jhangiryan from the position of Deputy Prosecutor General and stripped him of the class rank of First Class State Advisor of Justice.
This implies that Armen Sarkissyan will be held accountable for Kocharyan's actions. Moreover, this move by Jhangiryan has reportedly caused a stir in the Prosecutor General's Office, as there are rumors that he is determined to seize the prosecutor's chair at any cost. There are also speculations that the Prosecutor General, Arthur Davtyan, may resign by the end of the year.
Davtyan's advisor, Gor Abrahamyan, commented on the matter, stating that they do not comment on "absurd, gossip-like information. The Prosecutor General continues his normal work." Jhangiryan also remarked, "Let’s wait and see if this case will be accepted for consideration or not." Meanwhile, the President’s assistant, Hasmik Petrosyan, mentioned that "the President's office has not received a copy of the lawsuit." For more details, refer to today’s issue of the newspaper.
