I am confident that today Tsarukyan's businesses, which he has entrusted to management, are much more protected: Simonian
I don’t think anyone is targeting anyone. This was stated today by the Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, commenting on the statement of Gagik Tsarukyan, the president of the Prosperous Armenia party, that the authorities are only inspecting his “properties.”
“I am confident that today Gagik Tsarukyan's businesses, which he has entrusted to management, are much more protected than ever and, in general, the situation is much more comfortable for every businessman than it has ever been,” he said.
Regarding Gagik Jhangiryan’s appeal to the administrative court to restore his former position as the prosecutor general, Simonian stated: “When some law has been violated, it should be verified. I am confident that Mr. Jhangiryan's case will not be unique in terms of the fact that numerous lawsuits will be filed in the Republic of Armenia regarding actions carried out during the previous administration, and that is good; let all questions be answered so that it can come out of our public agenda.”
Commenting on the activities of Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, the Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly noted that he does not see a need for his resignation and does not blame him for any issue. “He has performed his function; I do not see any legislative violations. The other question is that perhaps there is a legislative gap that the opposition is trying to exploit, which I believe will end unsuccessfully. Numerous construction permits have been granted, and linking them together means working and making assumptions based on old logic,” he said, adding that it is an old logic when someone thinks that they can receive something in return for something.
