Do All People Lack Disabilities? – Artak Beglaryan
Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh Artak Beglaryan wrote on his Facebook page:
“When many people, including one of the most traveled individuals from Armenia (including Artsakh), part ways with you after an official meeting wishing you ‘health’, evidently referring to your disability, you simply smile and once again realize that the root of the main problems faced by persons with disabilities lies in people’s perceptions. And in that chain of perceptions, the primary role belongs to the persons with disabilities themselves since our perceptions directly affect how those around us perceive them. Learn to laugh at your own problems, and they will stop being obstacles, sometimes turning into competitive advantages. Moreover, the state should also effectively fulfill its regulatory and supportive duties in this area, for which, as the Human Rights Defender, I will have separate publications and proposals.
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES...
P.S. A philosophical question: do all people lack disabilities if they are born and live with limited abilities...?”
