The Prime Minister Loves That Hooligan and Rowdy. Who is Angela Tovmasyan Talking About?
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, by not responding to certain incidents, is effectively encouraging such actions to continue. This was stated today, December 2, at a press conference by Angela Tovmasyan, the director of the 'Hayeli' Club, addressing the attack on the club.
“When those same rowdies, I do not hesitate to characterize those young men as such, declare from the vicinity of the Opera that they must break the head of the President of Artsakh, when they attack Hrant Margaryan, and when the same hooligans attack a lawyer's car with some vile statements, it is Mr. Enokyan’s car tire that has been punctured. I am astonished that our Prime Minister has not responded, as he reacts to everything; only to these hooligan actions, for some reason, he remains silent. As Mr. Avetikyan says, our loquacious Prime Minister continues to be silent. And by not responding, he is contributing to the continuation of all this,” said Angela Tovmasyan.
She also mentioned that the young people filming Judge Anna Danibekyan are, for example, in custody, while those committing the hooligan acts are at large. Tovmasyan stated that she cannot say anything to the investigator because she also feels uncomfortable, keeping her head down.
“At least in one matter, the Prime Minister is honest when he says, ‘I love you.’ Arghavan Vartanian said, ‘I have bad news for you, your Prime Minister does not love you, but in this case, he does love that hooligan and rowdy.’ The hooligan and rowdy have become more active in our reality. If they think that time will pass and there will be no response, then no, I assure you and my colleagues that this case will not be closed just like that,” added Angela Tovmasyan.
She also recounted that during a visit abroad, a reporter from the 'Hraparak' newspaper separately approached the Prime Minister and asked him how he explains his silence. The Prime Minister responded that he had given an instruction and is seriously engaged. “Is this your engagement when two months have passed, and there is no news, the case is closed, set aside? I say: restrain your hooligans and rowdies and engage with the case,” Tovmasyan emphasized.
It should be noted that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the attack on the 'Hayeli' Club in October under Part 1 of Article 164 of the RA Criminal Code, which pertains to obstructing a journalist's professional legal activities.
