Discussing the Political Situation in Artsakh
Yesterday, we had a meeting with Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan and leaders who are preparing to announce their candidacies for the upcoming presidential elections in Artsakh, including the leader of the "Democratic Party of Artsakh," current Chairman of the National Assembly Ashot Ghulyan, current Minister of Foreign Affairs Masis Mayilian, and President of the "Free Homeland" party Arayik Harutyunyan. This was reported by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page.
He particularly noted: "The meeting also included a representative of the ARF Artsakh Central Committee, member of the National Assembly 'Dashnaktsutyun' faction Davit Ishkhanyan. We discussed the organization of the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in Artsakh and the current political situation in Artsakh. I also addressed the process of resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the ongoing efforts in military building."
I reaffirmed my position that conducting free, fair, transparent, and internationally compliant presidential and parliamentary elections in Artsakh is extremely important, emphasizing that the Armenian government will fully support the authorities of Artsakh in this regard.
