Clash Between Kurdish and Turkish Students in Leeds, England
A clash occurred in the center of Leeds, England, between Kurdish and Turkish students. Supporters of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party), which is considered a terrorist organization in Turkey, assaulted a Turkish student during an argument, leading to the student's hospitalization.
According to Turkish sources, the incident arose when the Turkish student attempted to prevent PKK supporters from carrying out anti-Turkish propaganda, as reported by Ermeni Haber.
The Turkish student explained that upon approaching the panel, he noticed that incorrect information about Turkey was being disseminated. He addressed the Kurdish students, stating that Turks do not have a problem with Kurds and that their struggle is against the PKK.
One of the PKK supporters responded that he identified as a PKK member and attacked the Turkish student along with his friends. The Turkish student subsequently reported the assault to the police.
It is noted that following Turkey's military operation named 'Peace Spring' against Kurds in northwestern Syria, clashes between Turks and Kurds have frequently occurred in Europe. Reports from Turkish sources indicate that in Belgium, PKK supporters stabbed two Turkish youths, while in Norway, stones and bats were thrown at a vehicle belonging to Turks. Additionally, in Strasbourg, France, PKK supporters attacked Turkish civilians during a march, and in London, they assaulted Şeyma Döyücü, the mayor of Şanlıurfa's Sanjaktepe district.
