Georgian Authorities and Opposition Fail to Reach Agreement

The Georgian authorities and opposition leaders have failed to reach an agreement on holding parliamentary elections in 2020. According to TASS news agency, this was announced to reporters by Georgia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Tea Tsulukiani.

"The opposition is proposing what is referred to as the German model for elections. During the meeting, we discussed their proposal from both a legal and political perspective. We have maintained the same position and believe that this model is unconstitutional, making further debate on this issue impossible," the minister stated to reporters.
