London's Metro Air Recognized as the Most Polluted in the World

The level of air pollution in London's metropolitan subway has been recognized as the highest in the world due to the presence of fine particles, whose density exceeds permissible limits by dozens of times in certain sections. This is reported by The Times, citing a study from the Royal College of London.

The accumulation of harmful microscopic particles in the air is higher in specific lines of the capital's underground railway than in the metros of Beijing, Los Angeles, New York, Seoul, Sydney, and Barcelona. For instance, on average, 302 micrograms of such microelements have been detected per cubic meter of air, which is 15 times higher than the levels recorded on the city’s streets.

Moreover, the highest level of air pollution was registered on the Victoria line, with 800 micrograms per cubic meter, which is 40 times higher than the conditionally permissible norm.
