‘Hraparak’: The National Assembly Lacks a Spokesperson, Questions Remain Unanswered
‘Hraparak’ newspaper writes: Reporters working in the National Assembly operate under quite difficult conditions. Respondents from the ‘My Step’ bloc often evade questions, and this is sometimes compounded by unprepared deputies from LHK and BHK, who lack confidence in their knowledge. The National Assembly, which has been operational for over a year, does not have a spokesperson, and any inquiries remain suspended, as there is no one to address them to.
‘Don’t you think it’s absurd for a parliamentary country to function without a spokesperson for the National Assembly? This has never happened before. Are you not the person we can direct our questions to?’ we asked Ararat Mirzoyan’s assistant, Vahan Kostanyan. ‘I am not that person; such responsibility has not been assigned to me. There will be a competition for the head of the public relations department, and after it’s filled, there will be someone to work with you,’ he replied.
‘When will the competition take place? It has been on hold for a year.’ ‘There are structural changes happening in the National Assembly staff, and the competition will be held soon.’ By the way, you wrote a post directed at the BHK, stating that they ‘should learn a lesson’ from the upcoming discussion about thieves in law, do you think it is acceptable for an assistant of Ararat Mirzoyan to speak in such a tone with one of the National Assembly factions? ‘I believe there is a consensus within our political team that we must fight against thieves in law,’ he concluded.
