Anna Hakobyan Visits the Border Village of Movses

Anna Hakobyan, the wife of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and chairwoman of the boards of the "My Step" and "City of Smile" charitable foundations, visited the border village of Movses in the Tavush province on November 28. According to information from Anna Hakobyan's office, she was accompanied by the principal of the Movses secondary school, Ruzanna Adamyan, Father Abel Kartashyan, the administrative head of the community, Artak Papyan, and Larisa Hovhannisyan, the founder of the "Teach For Armenia" organization.

During her visit, Anna Hakobyan attended the community's secondary school, danced the traditional Armenian Popur dance with the students, and participated in school games, drawing, and pottery classes. She was also present at a discussion in the school's "Zartir" literary club, where club members acted as young journalists and posed questions to the Prime Minister's wife.

In response to a question about reading, Anna Hakobyan noted that through reading, a person enters another world where real values exist. "Without reading books, it is impossible to be happy, impossible to create, and happiness lies in creation," she emphasized, admitting that she often reads books to her young daughter, Arpi, at home. The Prime Minister's wife also stated that she pays great attention to reading and ensures that her children frequently read books.

"The book is a symbol of education, and the future of the New Armenia depends on the book. The development of our country depends on education," Anna Hakobyan stated, adding that the role of the book will never change regardless of the era.

At the end of the discussion, students from the school's "Armat" engineering laboratory presented Anna Hakobyan with a microphone they had prepared.

As part of her community visit, Anna Hakobyan also stopped by the cultural house. After her visit to the Movses community, Anna Hakobyan traveled to one of the combat positions in the northeastern direction of the Armenian Armed Forces and met with the soldiers on duty.

At the end of the visit, Anna Hakobyan spoke to reporters, stating: "I am aware of the criticisms; there is some misunderstanding regarding the visits. First and foremost, I visit combat positions at the urging of my husband. Then, as the Prime Minister's wife, I come to the village of Movses with a plan, various events, and being so close to the border and the soldiers who preserve our peace at the cost of their lives, I simply cannot refrain from coming and inquiring about their well-being. Before becoming a soldier's mother, the army has always been in the heart, soul, and mind of every citizen, including me. The way I have previously related to the army is the same way I relate to it today," said Anna Hakobyan.
