After Erdoğan's Statement, Turkey's Ambassador Summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in France

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's recent statements have prompted France to summon the Turkish ambassador to its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

France has called in the Turkish diplomatic representative over offensive remarks directed at President Macron, according to French media reports. “Let’s be honest, this was not an expression but an insult,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated to the Turkish ambassador.

It is worth noting that President Erdoğan had reacted to remarks made by France's President Emmanuel Macron regarding NATO. Erdoğan was disturbed by Macron's view that NATO is experiencing ‘brain death.’ “I am addressing the President of France and will say the same at the NATO summit: Macron himself should see a doctor to check if his brain is dead or not,” Erdoğan stated.
