Putin Will Not Be Able to Attend the Funeral of Gohar Vardanyan, Peskov Says

Russian President Vladimir Putin will not be able to attend the funeral of Gohar Vardanyan. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, in an interview with Sputnik Armenia in Bishkek.

“Putin's schedule is very tight, and he will not be able to participate in the burial ceremony of Gohar Vardanyan,” he said.

When asked when was the last time Putin and Gohar Vardanyan met, Peskov replied that he does not remember exactly but noted that in recent years, Putin visited the Vardanyan residence, while Gohar Vardanyan was hosted at the Kremlin.

It is noteworthy that Gohar Vardanyan, the renowned spy, passed away at the age of 93 in Moscow on November 25. Her funeral ceremony will take place tomorrow, on November 29. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian will travel to Moscow to bid farewell to the legendary spy, Gohar Vardanyan.
