Judge Samvel Uzunyan, who examined the October 27 case and is now involved in an NSS corruption case, has retired
According to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, it has become clear that Judge Samvel Uzunyan, who examined the October 27 case and is currently involved in a corruption case revealed by the National Security Service (NSS), has retired.
Recall that on November 26, the NSS announced that it had uncovered a case of soliciting and receiving particularly large bribes by high-ranking officials between 2007 and 2009, but did not disclose the names of those officials.
However, the newspaper clarified that Judge Uzunyan is also part of this case. During the investigation of a kidnapping case of a resident of Yerevan, officials requested and gradually received large sums of bribes through another official who acted as an intermediary on behalf of the victim's father for conducting their legal business between 2007 and 2009. Nonetheless, the presumed perpetrators of the crime have not yet been held accountable. The intermediary returned only a portion of the bribe to the victim's father.
