«168 hour». Parties Continue Preparing for War Alongside Negotiations, Alexander Kramchikhin

«168 hour» newspaper writes: Despite the unresolved nature of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, meetings, visits, discussions, and actions can be organized between peoples. As a result of such agreements, prisoners were exchanged months ago, which was positive, and this trend allows for such exchanges to take place, bringing positive changes to the lives of certain individuals. If there is an opportunity to change the situation in small matters regarding people’s lives, that can happen,” said Russian analyst Alexander Kramchikhin in an interview with «168 hour», referring to the significance of journalistic exchange visits between Yerevan, Baku, and Stepanakert.

Kramchikhin believes that the question is how much this contributes to greater peace in the region. A clear indication of the lack of willingness to make concessions is that the parties, alongside negotiations, continue to prepare for war, acquiring new military technology. Meanwhile, weaker yet belligerent rhetoric persists. Furthermore, there is no progress in negotiations, aside from these agreements. The alternative to this is a military scenario, which I predict will occur sooner or later. The negotiations only extend this phase,” said Kramchikhin.
