I Am Not Going to Address a Document That Is Not on the Parliament's Agenda. Makunts on the Istanbul Convention
Neither yesterday nor today is the Istanbul Convention on the parliament's agenda. This was stated today, November 27, during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly by Lilit Makunts, the leader of the "My Step" faction.
"I am not going to address a document that has not yet appeared in the National Assembly," she added in response to the question of whether public pressure had influenced and prevented the document from reaching the parliament.
It is noteworthy that there have been several protests against the ratification of the Istanbul Convention, and signature collections have been organized. Recently, "My Step" faction member Taguhi Ghazaryan also did not rule out that the Istanbul Convention might not appear in the parliament's agenda at all.
