Polish Prosecutor's Office Arrests Employees of Gazprom
The Polish Prosecutor's Office, with a court order, has arrested three employees of Gazprom's subsidiary and the Polish company PGNiG, whose activities have caused significant damage to the state. This information was published on the official website of the prosecutor's office.
According to the announcement, the state has suffered a loss of $217 million (848 million zloty). The arrested individuals have been charged with abuse of power, failure to perform duties, and thereby causing significant damage to the state.
The investigation revealed that Mikhail Sh. and Miroslav D. signed a contract on January 27, 2010, in Moscow between EuRoPol GAZ, Gazprom Export, and PGNiG SA, which contains extremely unfavorable provisions for EuRoPol GAZ.
